BT Service Outage Incident Report 11/01/12: -

A core Cisco network switch suffered a single Small Form-Factor Pluggable Module (SFP) failure at 07:41am, resulting in an interlink between Telehouse East and Telehouse West being lost. BT partners would have lost access to the Support and Billing Portals at this time due to the Cisco SFP failure. During this period these were the only Portal Services affected issue all other service were non-affected.

09:25 The SFP module was replaced; as a result of bringing this interlink back online our Access SBC's became Active/Active causing a drop in calls and some devices loosing registration to the BT service. This was corrected at 09:32 resulting in all affected services being restored.

Carrier-side voice services were unaffected. Therefore, Forwarding and Disaster Recovery Services such as Simultaneous Ring, Call Forward Not Reachable etc. were unaffected.

Comtec apologises for any inconvenience this BT Service Outage has caused.
