[Comtec Announce] IP Voice: Service Alert: 13/12/2010

Issue:

A minority of Inbound and Outbound calls to and from the PSTN were not
connecting.

Actions:

1. Initial reports of this issue were received by Support at 10:45.
2. Engineering were immediately tasked to investigate due to the
nature of the reported problem.
3. Engineering identified the cause to be down to an unexpected
increase in call traffic on the  Carrier Connection.
4. Engineering carried out proactive configuration changes to the
Carrier Connection to allow for this increase in traffic at 11:15.

Status:

Since the configuration change was made calls appear to be progressing
successfully. Engineering are continuing to monitor the volume and
status of calls traversing the Carrier Connection before fully
confirming the issue to be resolved.

Next Steps:

Once Engineering are happy that the changes made have completely
resolved the issue we will provide further update to this effect.
